On a recent episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic joined the chat show host for a bar chat. As always, the atmosphere was lively and the conversation was full of interesting tidbits about Ryan’s music career and upcoming tour.

Ryan Tedder just finished a massive U.S tour and will soon be embarking on a world tour, starting in Europe and then heading to the Middle East, South Africa, and Asia. With such a long and extensive tour, James Corden was curious to know how Ryan keeps things fresh every night.

Being a band for 15 years, OneRepublic has a large catalog of songs, and Ryan revealed that they’ve recently started incorporating songs he has written for other artists into their concerts. This means that fans can now enjoy a 20-minute concert of hit songs from other artists performed by Ryan. He mentioned some crowd favorites like “Bleeding Love,” “Halo” by Beyoncé, “Rumor Has It” by Adele, and even a little bit of “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X.

James couldn’t help but mention that “Bleeding Love” is one of his favorite pop songs, and he praised Ryan’s ability to recreate the tight snare drum sound of the original. The conversation then shifted to Ryan’s collaborations with other artists, and he mentioned how he has had incredible experiences working with icons like U2 and Peter Gabriel. However, the standout moment for him was spending a week with Paul McCartney in the UK. Ryan said they had the opportunity to play with all the instruments from every Beatles album, and Paul even shared stories and insights about how he wrote some of his famous songs like “Eleanor Rigby” and “Hey Jude.”

After the break, Ryan treated the audience to a performance of his new song, “It Ain’t Worried,” which is currently number seven on the Hot 100 Billboard chart. Interestingly, this song caught the attention of the producers of the highly anticipated movie “Top Gun: Maverick.” Ryan shared that he received a call from Randy Spen love at Paramount Pictures, who asked him to jump on a Zoom call with Tom Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer. They explained that they needed a song for a pivotal volleyball scene in the movie and had already tried 30 different songs before reaching out to Ryan. Inspired and motivated, Ryan and his bass player, Brent, wrote the song within 24 hours and submitted it. Tom Cruise loved it and assured Ryan that this was the perfect song for the scene.

With his world tour on the horizon and his new song making waves on the charts, Ryan Tedder is definitely a name to watch out for in the music industry. One thing is for sure – his performances on The Late Late Show with James Corden are always entertaining, and fans can’t wait to see what he has in store next.
