On a recent episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, actress Michelle Keegan and comedian Rob Brydon discussed their experiences working on the hit show. Keegan, known for her role as a mother on the series, spoke highly of her young co-star Tyler, calling him the most professional actor on set. Brydon chimed in, sharing that the show often involves working with animals, which adds an extra level of chaos to the set. Keegan revealed that they’ve had an array of animals on the show, including llamas, bulls, armadillos, monkeys, emus, skunks, and, of course, dogs and cats.
The topic of working with animals led to an amusing anecdote from Brydon about a scene involving a trained dog and a dildo. Apparently, the dog refused to hold the prop in its mouth, causing a five-hour delay on set. As Brydon jokingly speculated, “Maybe it’s too big, I don’t know.”
The conversation then turned to Brydon’s own experience working with animals, particularly horses. He admitted to being scared of them, as they can easily be spooked. Brydon recounted a funny incident during the filming of a sword and sorcery epic, where he and his co-stars had to ride horses. Despite seven weeks of training, Brydon found himself clinging to the horse for dear life as it galloped through a field. Thankfully, he managed to stay on, but in the finished film, eagle-eyed viewers can spot the hidden safety measures taken, such as someone holding the reins just out of shot, or even scenes with animatronic horses.
It’s clear that both Keegan and Brydon have had their fair share of interesting and unpredictable moments while working on the show. With their wit and charm, their appearances on The Jonathan Ross Show are always entertaining and provide a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes chaos that comes with working in the entertainment industry.
