In a recent episode of “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” actress Gabrielle Union shared a touching and unique story about hosting a dog funeral. Joined by musician Lizzo, the two celebrities discussed their first meeting at an Adele concert and their mutual admiration for each other.

Gabrielle Union revealed that she and her husband, Dwayne Wade, are known for going all out for various celebrations and milestones. One unexpected event where they went all out was for a pet funeral. Union explained that their dog, Pink, who was quite old at the time, had a unique personality and gait that earned her the nickname “Hollywood as hell.” So, when the time came for Pink’s passing, the couple organized a full-fledged funeral service.

The dog’s funeral had a program, invited guests, and even a harpist playing soothing music. Union described it as a beautiful homegoing ceremony, and everyone present shared their memories of Pink. To clarify any confusion, Union jokingly stated that no, they did not eat the dog. She emphasized that they are the kind of people who would do anything to keep their pets alive.

The conversation took an amusing turn when Lizzo expressed her surprise and asked if she would attend a dog funeral. Union explained that the living Pink was present at the event, and their other pets, who were unaware of the situation, also attended. The dogs gathered around Pink during the ceremony, seemingly understanding what was happening. Union’s friends and family members even talked to their other dogs, trying to explain what was going on. The entire discussion brought laughter and applause from the audience.

Later in the show, Lizzo shared exciting news about her new show, “Lizzos Watch Out for the Big Girls.” As a person who promotes body positivity, she has always incorporated big girls in her performances. However, she realized that big girls often struggle to get representation in the entertainment industry. To address this, Lizzo held open auditions for big girl dancers, similar to those she has been using in her concerts since 2014. Now, she is producing and starring in a show where she celebrates and showcases the talent of big girl dancers.

Lizzo explained that her inspiration for the show came from her desire to provide opportunities to those who are often overlooked. She wanted to create a space where big girls like herself could shine and be seen. With the support of Prime Video, Lizzo held nationwide auditions for big girl dancers, who would join her on tour.

The conversation veered off into Lizzo‘s childhood dreams of becoming a dancer and her admiration for Diddy’s dancing skills. She recounted a memorable moment from her childhood, where she danced to Diddy at a party and received applause from the adults. This experience made her realize that dancing could be her talent.
