Gordon Ramsay, the renowned kitchen colossus known for his dedication to cooking and swearing, made an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show. The charismatic chef has just returned to the UK from America, where he spends a significant amount of his time. Despite the allure of the culinary world, Ramsay stays in London to be near his children.

During the interview, Ramsay’s host Jonathan Ross couldn’t help but compliment him on his appearance. The chef’s hair, which has been through numerous experimental styles, has finally settled down and is looking great. Ramsay jokingly referred to some of his past hairstyles as “shocking” and “a weird one.” But now, with his hair looking better than ever, Ramsay can focus on more important things, like food.

Speaking of food, Ross asked Ramsay how he manages to stay fit and in shape despite owning and operating numerous restaurants and being constantly surrounded by temptation. Ramsay revealed that as a chef, he is constantly tasting and grazing throughout the day, which keeps him satisfied and energized. He emphasized that eating a full meal before cooking dinner isn’t always necessary because it makes him feel less energized. So, while Ramsay may not experience the full pleasure of a meal, he maintains his physique by constantly sampling small mouthfuls of food.

Ross couldn’t resist asking about Ramsay’s fitness routine, wondering if he works out at a gym or has a gym at home. Surprisingly, Ramsay admitted to not having a gym membership or a home gym. Instead, he revealed that he works out wherever he is, sometimes even in his speedos (or as the British call them, “budgie smugglers”). Ross playfully teased Ramsay about his age and wearing speedos, but Ramsay confidently stated that he still rocks them. He also mentioned that swimming naked is his preference, as it allows him to swim faster. Though Ross couldn’t help but joke that swimming naked may attract unwanted attention.

But Ramsay’s commitment to fitness isn’t just for personal well-being. He recently launched the Gordon Ramsay Foundation, partnering with cancer research and various other charities. To raise funds for these causes, Ramsay plans to participate in an Ironman event called Gordon Ramsay 100. Ross, impressed by Ramsay’s dedication, even extended an invitation for Ramsay to join him for the event.

The conversation took a serious turn as Ross touched on Ramsay’s family life. Ramsay’s father passed away when Ramsay was young, and one of Ramsay’s siblings has struggled with substance abuse. Ramsay admitted that it’s challenging to maintain contact with his troubled sibling, as each encounter tends to reopen old wounds. Ramsay believes in tough love and feels that hitting rock bottom is necessary for his sibling to seek help.

Being a parent himself, Ramsay understands the importance of setting a positive example for his children. He remains clean and focuses on his charitable work and fitness as a way to protect his children from succumbing to the same troubles.

Switching gears, Ross delved into Ramsay’s business ventures. With 27 restaurants worldwide, soon to be 30, Ramsay’s reach is undeniable. When opening a new restaurant, Ramsay is diligent and highly involved in every aspect. He personally trains the chefs and works tirelessly to ensure the success of each establishment. However, with success comes envy, and Ramsay recounted an incident where a hundred no-shows deliberately sabotaged the opening night of one of his restaurants.

As the interview drew to a close, Ross expressed his admiration for Ramsay’s TV shows, particularly Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell. Ramsay announced that he plans to cut down on these shows, wanting a change after a decade of producing them. He reminisced about the fun he had on the shows and jokingly mentioned the occasional “gratuitous Ramsay nudity” that his fans enjoyed.

Gordon Ramsay‘s appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show was both entertaining and insightful. From his hair mishaps to discussing his family struggles and his commitment to fitness and charity, Ramsay showcased his wit, resilience, and passion for what he does. While fans may miss his frequent TV appearances, Ramsay’s energy and dedication to his craft are undeniable.
