On a recent episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, actor David Duchovny revealed an interesting tidbit about his early days in Hollywood. It turns out that he auditioned for Quentin Tarantino‘s first movie, Reservoir Dogs!

Duchovny, who is currently promoting his new film, discussed his experiences working with an “extraordinary cast” in the upcoming movie. He explained that the film centers around an epic game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons, which inspired the story of four older ladies who want to have sex with Gronk and Tom Brady.

When asked about working with the likes of Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field, Duchovny couldn’t contain his excitement. “I loved it,” he gushed. “It was so reaffirming for me and my career. To be around such legends who’ve done it for decades and done so many things, it felt like falling in love.”

Duchovny also shared a personal story about his audition for Quentin Tarantino‘s Reservoir Dogs. He explained that it was before Tarantino became the renowned director we know today. Duchovny auditioned for multiple roles, including Mr. Pink and Mr. Orange. However, Tarantino ultimately decided not to cast him. Duchovny fondly recalled, “Quentin says, ‘I like what you do, I just don’t know if I want you to do it in my movie.’ It’s not the worst comment, but it’s the best rejection I ever got.”

Throughout the interview, Duchovny’s energy and humor were palpable. He even shared a funny interaction with fellow guest Reggie Watts, who asked the hypothetical question, “If a person existed who had a name, Ebenezer Crumpleflorf, what do you think they’d be like?” Duchovny quickly responded with a clever joke, proving his wit and charm.

It’s clear that David Duchovny continues to make waves in the entertainment industry. Audiences can’t help but be excited about his upcoming film, as well as the fascinating stories he shares during interviews like The Late Late Show with James Corden. It’s always refreshing to see a Hollywood veteran like Duchovny open up about his experiences and remind us why we fell in love with him in the first place.
