On a recent episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show, actor Breckin Meyer made an appearance to discuss his new show “Married to the Kellys” and to share some exciting news with the audience. As he walked on stage, the audience erupted in applause, showing their enthusiasm for the talented actor.
Ellen wasted no time in congratulating Breckin on his new addition to the family. In a surprising turn of events, Ellen revealed that she wasn’t aware of Breckin’s wife’s pregnancy during their previous encounter. Breckin happily confirmed that his wife had indeed given birth on New Year’s Eve, making the start of the year even more special for the Meyer family.
Showing off a picture of his baby girl, Breckin beamed with pride. However, he couldn’t help but joke about his daughter being bigger than the photo suggested. Ellen, amused by his remark, praised Breckin on becoming a first-time dad. The actor humbly admitted that it was a terrifying experience, especially since he had never even changed a diaper before. But despite his initial reservations, Breckin acknowledged the joy of being a parent.
With a hint of apprehension, Breckin recounted the baby classes he and his wife attended to prepare for their new arrival. While they learned about baby CPR, diaper-changing wasn’t covered, leaving them to figure it out as they went along. Breckin couldn’t help but reflect on how lucky parents today are with the invention of user-friendly diapers, unlike the days of dealing with pins.
As Ellen inquired about the support system in place, Breckin revealed that his in-laws were staying with them for a month, making the adjustment to parenthood a little less stressful. With his father-in-law being a surgeon and his mother-in-law a former nurse, Breckin jokingly expressed his relief, knowing that help was always at hand.
However, Breckin acknowledged that once his in-laws left, he and his wife would have to rely on their own instincts and abilities. As a relatively new dad, he couldn’t help but marvel at his deep love for his daughter, likening her to his new girlfriend, but with a twist – she couldn’t go anywhere on her own yet.
Switching gears to his new show, “Married to the Kellys,” Breckin revealed that he plays a married man, drawing comparisons to his own life. Ellen, ever curious, asked for his insight into what makes a good marriage. Breckin, with a boyish grin, divulged the secret: separate televisions, also known as “toos.” He explained that a “too” is like a VCR, capable of recording any show featuring a specific person or genre. This way, couples can enjoy their own favorite shows without conflict or missing out on what they want to watch.
As the interview wrapped up, Ellen congratulated Breckin once again on his new show and baby. The audience, in true Ellen fashion, erupted in cheers and applause. Breckin bid farewell, thanking Ellen for the opportunity to share his excitement and joy.
Don’t miss “Married to the Kellys,” airing on Fridays at 8:30 PM on ABC, as Breckin Meyer continues to entertain audiences with his talents.
