In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cole Sprouse shared some behind-the-scenes details about his upcoming film, Lisa Frankenstein. The film, directed by Zelda Williams (daughter of the late Robin Williams), is a campy take on the nostalgic movies of the late ’80s and early ’90s.

Sprouse plays the role of The Creature in Lisa Frankenstein, which required him to communicate entirely through physical performance rather than speaking. As a typically chatty person, Sprouse admitted that this was a challenge for him. However, he took an unconventional approach to prepare for the role by training with a mime.

The mime, a student of legendary mime Marcel Marceau, introduced Sprouse to a concept called “The Attitudes.” This involved finding physical poses that capture different emotions, helping to create a universal language of physical expression. While Sprouse didn’t make any money performing on the street as a raging statue, he found the training experience fascinating.

Lisa Frankenstein, written by renowned screenwriter Diablo Cody (known for her work on Juno and Jennifer’s Body), is described as a love letter to the quirky and feel-good movies of the past. The film is set in a high school and promises to be a campy and nostalgic experience.

During his conversation with Jimmy Fallon, Sprouse also mentioned his brother’s recent wedding in Hungary. Although delivering best-man speeches isn’t a tradition in Hungary, Sprouse assured the audience that he will be giving a speech at the upcoming second wedding in Los Angeles.

Fans of Cole Sprouse can catch him in Lisa Frankenstein when it hits theaters on February 9th. With his unique non-speaking role and the talented team behind the film, it’s sure to be an interesting and entertaining watch.
