Popular celebrities Drew Carey and Kelly Preston were the featured guests on a recent episode of the hit talk show, The Ellen Degeneres Show. The episode aired on October 18, 2004, and was filled with fun and laughter.
Ellen, as always, started off the show by expressing her gratitude to the audience, saying, “Thank you all so much for being here. I truly appreciate it!” She emphasized the positivity and happiness that clapping brings, stating, “Clapping is a wonderful way to show that you’re happy, and it makes everyone happy too!”
Ellen then went on to discuss the different types of clapping styles people have, from the traditional clap to the flat tortilla clap. She even mentioned the polite golf clap and the fake clap. The audience was in stitches as Ellen demonstrated each style, making the whole segment a laugh riot.
The conversation then shifted to Kelly Preston, who is known for her fantastic acting skills. Ellen complimented Kelly on her performance in the hilarious movie “Eulogy,” which was set to release on November 5th. Kelly’s husband, John Travolta, had also recently appeared on the show, and Ellen remarked how giddy he was during the episode.
Next up was Drew Carey, who was promoting his new show, “The Drew Carey Green Screen Show.” Ellen mentioned Drew’s incredible sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. She also shared a funny anecdote about going trick-or-treating early. Ellen believed that starting the Halloween festivities three weeks early would give her a better chance at getting all the candy before it ran out.
Ellen proceeded to show a hilarious video of herself going trick-or-treating in various neighborhoods. She knocked on doors, did magic tricks, and even scared a few people along the way. The audience couldn’t contain their laughter as Ellen showcased her comedic talent.
The episode took an unexpected turn when Ellen received a call from a viewer named Ashley from Tennessee. Ashley invited Ellen to be her birth coach as she was due to give birth to her son, Jack, in less than a month. Ellen jokingly agreed to be Ashley’s birth coach and even suggested sending her a pager in case she went into labor.
Throughout the episode, Ellen mentioned her “RSVP Ellen” initiative, where she invited fans to invite her to their special occasions. Due to the enormous response, Ellen decided to open up the “Riff Raff room” on the show, where people could throw their own parties and celebrate their events. She promised to cut back and forth to showcase these celebrations during future episodes.
In true Ellen fashion, the episode ended with more fun and laughter. Ellen showed footage of herself going trick-or-treating at Paul’s house, a crew member. She playfully scared him and managed to get some candy as well.
Kelly Preston‘s delightful presence and Drew Carey‘s humor-filled segment added to the overall entertainment of the episode. The Ellen Degeneres Show never fails to provide a lively and engaging experience for its viewers.
