On a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, comedian Nick Griffin made his debut and had the audience in stitches with his hilarious stand-up routine. Griffin, known for his dry wit and deadpan delivery, entertained the crowd with his observations about CVS employees and the ups and downs of adult breakups.

Griffin’s set began with him expressing gratitude for being on the show and asking the audience if they were doing well. He then shared an amusing anecdote about a homeless man who told him to “hang in there” – perhaps a remark prompted by Griffin’s less-than-enthusiastic facial expressions.

The comedian went on to talk about people who seem happy all the time, noting that their perpetual cheeriness can be unsettling. Griffin humorously likened these individuals to having “swallowed a clown,” contrasting his own less-than-joyful demeanor by jokingly claiming to have swallowed a CVS employee.

Griffin then turned his attention to his observations about the popular drugstore chain. He poked fun at the lackadaisical attitude of some of its employees, remarking on their reluctance to assist customers in finding items such as ice cream or razors. In his typical deadpan style, Griffin quipped that the unofficial motto of CVS should be “No.”

However, self-aware and seeking personal growth, Griffin jokingly acknowledged that he should focus on his own problems and become a more positive person. He recounted the advice that to be more positive, one must eliminate negative influences from their life. In a humorous twist, he revealed that he had taken this advice to the extreme and was now all alone, much happier but without anyone to notice.

Transitioning to another familiar topic, Griffin reminisced about the goth kids he encountered in high school. With their black attire, black hair, and pessimistic attitude, he playfully teased them for their perpetual gloominess. Griffin humorously challenged their self-proclaimed uniqueness by remarking that they were more like “Amish vampires” and suggesting that they were just rebelling adolescents.

In a more personal vein, Griffin shared his experience of going through a breakup, acknowledging the challenges and the range of emotions involved. He jokingly mentioned that, being in his 50s, he was not supposed to be just going through a breakup but rather dealing with more adult issues like divorce or heart attacks. With his trademark wit, Griffin described the rollercoaster of emotions that come with relationships, from feeling deeply in love to suddenly needing an escape, only to reconsider once the relationship is over.

Despite the ups and downs, Griffin emphasized that he does not hate his ex-partner. He humorously expressed his desire for her to be happy, with a touch of dark humor by adding, “just not super-happy.” Griffin admitted that he did love his ex-partner, sarcastically questioning whether he needed further proof to convince anyone of his feelings.

As his hilarious routine came to an end, Griffin thanked the audience and bid them farewell as the show wrapped up. Viewers who missed his performance can catch Nick Griffin‘s comedy special, “Absolutely Wonderful,” on YouTube.
