On a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Kamala Harris made a powerful closing argument ahead of the upcoming presidential election. Speaking at the ellipse in DC, the site of the January 6th attacks on Congress, Harris urged Americans to turn the page on the divisive and chaotic Trump era.

But that’s not all she did to grab attention. The Harris campaign unveiled the first-ever political ad on the iconic Las Vegas sphere, a truly mesmerizing sight. The ad is being hailed as one of the most memorable Las Vegas political ads since David Copperfield pulled Bob Dole out of a hatch.

Meanwhile, early voting is already underway across the country, with President Biden casting his ballot in Delaware. When asked how it felt to vote, Biden responded with a characteristic sweet and light-hearted remark.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump is still reeling from the fallout of Sunday’s hatefest at Madison Square Garden, where the first speaker referred to Puerto Rico as an island of floating garbage. The headlines have been rough for the GOP, with the Puerto Rico Firestorm spreading like wildfire in Pennsylvania. The Puerto Rico Republican chair is demanding an apology from Trump for his rally’s racist remarks, and the Trump campaign is struggling to contain the fallout from this October surprise.

During a press conference, Trump took responsibility for absolutely nothing, claiming that he didn’t know the speaker and hadn’t listened to his remarks. He even lamented about being kept hooded all day, jokingly comparing himself to a falcon. Nevertheless, he tried to make amends with a video on Truth social, claiming that Puerto Ricans love him and sharing a song made by a Cuban band.

Despite Trump’s attempts to fix the situation, the press conference at Mar-a-Lago proved that he attended a different rally from the rest of us. Trump raved about the love in the room at Madison Square Garden, comparing it to a Shakespeare Sonnet (albeit with a twist). His remarks left many scratching their heads and reaching for an ice pack.

As if that wasn’t enough, Trump also defended himself against charges of being a fascist, reminiscing about his father’s strict rule against using the words “Nazi” and “Hitler” and making his children put a quarter in the “Hitler jar” for every slip-up.

Amidst all of this, efforts to disrupt the upcoming election are already underway. Ballots and ballot boxes have been set on fire in three states, including a postal service mailbox. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but this incident raises concerns about the safety of ballot boxes. Perhaps it’s time to start keeping them in the safest possible location, maybe right next to the deodorant at CVS.

In another incident, a suspect named Dto Kon in Phoenix claimed that he set fire to a mailbox not for political reasons but simply for the fame. It seems that some people will go to extreme lengths just to be remembered.

With a week to go until the election, tensions are running high. But amidst all the chaos and controversies, there is one thing that remains constant – The Late Show with Stephen Colbert continues to bring viewers a mix of informative yet entertaining content.

Don’t miss the upcoming episode with special guest Tom Hanks, and stay tuned for more updates on the election drama as the campaign reaches its climax.
