London-based singer and songwriter, Lola Young, made her much-anticipated worldwide television debut on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” last night. The dazzling and divine Young, known for her soulful and mesmerizing voice, performed her newest single, “Fake,” which was released just hours before the show aired.

During her interview with Corden, Young revealed that she hails from London and was joining the show from a posh hotel in the city. Corden, acknowledging the prestigious Brit School she attended, compared her to other talented artists who had also found success after attending the school, including Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Jessie J. Young humbly stated that the comparisons were flattering but also added pressure to her aspiring career.

Last year, Young faced a scare when she discovered she had cysts on her vocal cords. Describing it as a terrifying experience, she underwent surgery to have them removed. Despite the temporary setback, Young assured fans that she is now back and better than ever.

Corden empathetically mentioned the fear that must have accompanied the news of having to undergo vocal cord surgery as a budding singer. Young confessed that although her doctors didn’t express concern, she was apprehensive when she saw her surgeon’s eyes. Luckily, the operation went smoothly, but Young was unable to speak for three days following the procedure. She described the difficulty of communicating by writing everything down, including moments when frustration took over and she wanted to shout but had to aggressively write her thoughts instead.

Shifting the focus to her new single, “Fake,” Young expressed her excitement about its release. She described the song as a piece of her heart and confessed that she had been eagerly awaiting its launch since its creation. Young’s enthusiasm was palpable as she discussed the overwhelming joy she felt now that the song was finally out in the world.

Corden concluded the interview by expressing his excitement for Young’s future and inviting her to the studio once she is across the water, hinting at an in-person performance later in the year. With her first television appearance behind her, there is no doubt that Lola Young is only beginning to leave her mark on the music industry.
