During a recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, actress Alicia Vikander opened up about her experience filming the new series “Captains” and her excitement for her husband Michael’s racing career.
“Captains” is a unique series that takes viewers behind the scenes of filmmaking, following an actress as she recreates her career by being part of a remake of a silent film from 1914. Vikander described the show as a satire and admitted that some of the things they recorded were crazy and pretty stupid, but ultimately quite funny.
Host James Corden praised Vikander’s performance in the show and urged viewers to watch it, emphasizing how brilliant it is. But Corden couldn’t resist shifting the conversation to Vikander’s husband, Michael, who is not only an incredible actor but also a professional race car driver.
Vikander shared her exhilaration at being trackside for her husband’s races, specifically recalling her experience during the Le Mans 24 where Michael competed in real life. She admitted that she was initially nervous but quickly got caught up in the excitement. Vikander vividly described cheering and having drinks, only to realize that the race lasted a grueling 24 hours. She humorously recounted getting tired and even going to sleep, only to find that the race was still ongoing.
Corden, who also has a love for cars, revealed that he didn’t start driving until he was in his 30s. He chuckled about learning to drive in California and how he bought his first car, a 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, for a mere two grand. Corden recalled a humorous incident where the car broke down during heavy rain, and people seemingly appeared out of nowhere to help push it, showing their kindness.
The chat took a funny turn when Corden shared another anecdote about purchasing a scooter. He excitedly paid £450 for the scooter but was left empty-handed when the seller suddenly rode off with his money. Corden banged on the nearest door, hoping to confront the culprit, only to discover that the house belonged to someone else entirely.
Despite these comical mishaps, Corden expressed his admiration for the incredible guests on the show and signed off to thunderous applause. Tune in to The Late Late Show with James Corden for more entertaining conversations with your favorite celebrities.
