On a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jeremy Allen White, star of the hit show The Bear, spilled the beans about his experience training with real chefs in Copenhagen. In Season 3 of the show, some production took place in the Danish capital, which allowed White to explore the city’s renowned food scene.

During his time in Copenhagen, White not only had the opportunity to indulge in amazing food but also got to meet some of the city’s top chefs. Describing them as intense perfectionists, he couldn’t help but admit that they were a little crazy. However, he found them to be incredible people to spend time with.

One particular incident that White shared with host Stephen Colbert was when he received an invitation to physically train with some of these chefs. Initially assuming that it would involve working out in the kitchen, he quickly discovered that it meant participating in circuit training sessions. Although White exercises regularly and felt confident in his fitness level, these workouts proved to be a real challenge for him.

The circuits consisted of a variety of exercises, including assault biking, bench presses, burpees, and dips. Each session lasted around 30 minutes, and after just five rounds, White had to excuse himself to go throw up. While he felt embarrassed by this turn of events, he couldn’t help but be impressed by the chefs’ stamina and determination.

Colbert couldn’t hide his surprise at White’s inability to keep up, jokingly referring to White’s Calvin Klein campaign and suggesting that his physical shape should have prepared him for the demanding workouts. White was just as surprised, admitting that he had thought he would be able to handle the circuit training without any issues. But as he put it, “They crushed me.”

Despite the trying workout experience, White’s time in Copenhagen was undoubtedly memorable and provided a unique opportunity to connect with the local culinary scene. With the premiere of The Bear Season 3 just around the corner, fans can look forward to seeing White’s journey unfold on the small screen.
