During a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Liam Payne opened up about his time with One Direction and his solo career. The British singer, looking dapper and in high spirits, shared some interesting anecdotes and insights into his life and journey in the music industry.

When asked about his lack of dancing in his music videos, Liam revealed that he had a bad history with dancing, recalling a particularly nerve-wracking experience during the filming of his music video for “Strip That Down.” Despite having Beyonce‘s choreographer and three weeks of intense rehearsals, Liam found himself too nervous to dance. He admitted to having a few drinks beforehand, which only made matters worse. The result? The entire video is just him smiling, as he couldn’t bring himself to dance. It seems dancing may not be on the cards for Liam anytime soon, as he jokingly admitted that he probably wouldn’t fare well on a show like Strictly Come Dancing.

Reflecting on his time with One Direction, Liam expressed that although it was an incredibly intense and hectic four years, he believes the break the band took was necessary. He mentioned that they were constantly on the go, traveling to different shows and missing out on after-parties because they were already on a plane to the next destination. Liam emphasized that they were just kids at the time and needed a breather. Despite any tensions that may have arisen during their time together, Liam revealed that he missed being in the band and the camaraderie with the other members. He also mentioned that he and Louis Tomlinson had a strong connection, even though they didn’t get along initially, and they still support each other through life’s challenges.

As for his relationship with the other members of One Direction, Liam disclosed that he occasionally keeps in touch with Niall Horan but hasn’t spoken to Harry Styles in a while. As for Zayn Malik, Liam admitted that they haven’t seen each other since Zayn left the band, but he acknowledged that their parting wasn’t on the best terms. Liam expressed that he doesn’t think Zayn will ever return to the band and that he respects Zayn’s decision to pursue his own path.

Moving on to discuss Liam’s solo career, Jonathan Ross noted that his music has a different feel from the One Direction days. Liam agreed, stating that going solo allows more of his true self to come through in his music. He added that each of the boys, referring to his former bandmates, has taken different directions in their solo projects, making the name “One Direction” rather ironic. The conversation then shifted to the topic of a possible One Direction reunion, to which Liam responded that while there have been discussions individually, there hasn’t been a collective decision. He hinted that the reunion might not happen for at least another two years and that he’s tired of giving out potential dates as it only leads to upset fans.

Towards the end of the interview, Jonathan Ross brought up Liam’s upcoming show, “Straight Talking,” where he joins forces with survivalist Ant Middleton. The show takes Liam to Namibia, where they embarked on adrenaline-fueled adventures. Liam recounted sleeping outside without proper tents, being on top of a high-speed train, and the potential dangers of the Namibian wilderness. Despite some reservations, Liam pushed through and experienced things he never thought he would.

The interview with Liam Payne on The Jonathan Ross Show was full of interesting revelations about his life, both in and out of One Direction. Fans can’t help but be excited for his solo career and future projects.
