On a recent episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the talk show host Stephen Colbert teamed up with singer Dua Lipa for a special holiday edition of “Rescue Dog Rescue.” This heartwarming segment aims to find homes for real rescue puppies and has already seen success with 157 dogs finding loving families.
With the delightful banter between Stephen Colbert and Dua Lipa, the segment started off on a cheerful note. Despite being close to the holidays, Colbert was surprised to see Lipa on the show, given her upcoming concert special, “An Evening with Dua Lipa,” set to air on CBS this Sunday. Lipa humorously mentioned how she was trapped inside a series of network studios and had just escaped from “The Price is Right” – a playful lie to set the lighthearted tone for the puppies awaiting adoption.
The first puppy introduced was the adorable Baxter, who has a habit of making people forget their original intentions upon entering a room. Baxter warmed hearts with his longing for belly rubs. Next up was Laura, a speedy typist who can pound out a hundred words per minute, though they may not always make sense.
Noodle, another pup in need of a loving home, was famous for incredible health insurance coverage – even offering to put potential adopters on her plan in exchange for their agreement to adopt her. Rocket, a four-legged friend from England, was known for barking in a British accent and having excellent bathroom etiquette.
Winston, another charming dog, was described as being perfect for the holiday season, as he knew all the words to Paul McCartney’s holiday classic, “Wonderful Christmas Time.” Despite this talent, he mercifully refrained from serenading his future family. Rick, an extraordinary dog who had mastered the art of using the toilet like a human, held on to his phone a little too long during bathroom breaks.
The segment also showcased Norbert, an older dog making a second appearance in “Rescue Dog Rescue.” Although he hadn’t been adopted after his previous appearance, the holidays presented a golden opportunity to adopt him as he was an expert at untangling Christmas lights – or rather, throwing them out and buying new ones.
Bella, who co-executive produced Dua Lipa‘s concert special, “An Evening with Dua Lipa,” had a taste for creativity and famously preferred to be compensated in small pieces of cheese. And finally, there was Mson, a dog with a unique talent. With Mson’s eye-watering gas, he could easily secure a table at the most exclusive restaurants by quickly clearing the place.
These adorable puppies are all available for adoption through Northshore Animal League America. For more information, head to their website or scan the QR code provided. By opening their hearts and homes to these lovable dogs, viewers can help continue the success of “Rescue Dog Rescue.”
