In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Canadian actor and comedian Will Sasso shared some interesting stories, including Pamela Anderson‘s gift of flowers to the cast of a sitcom he once worked on. Sasso joked about attending secret Canadian meetings and even compared Canada’s relationship with the US to a different kind of AA. Anderson had guest starred on the sitcom called “Less Than Perfect” about 20 years ago, and at the end of her week with the cast, she presented them with flowers. Sasso took his flowers home, where they sat for a year or two until they wilted and rotted. Not wanting to let them go, he then hung them upside down in a broom closet for another few years and eventually displayed them in a decorative bowl. However, when Sasso met his wife, she insisted on throwing them away, bringing an end to the long journey of the cast flowers.
Sasso’s Italian heritage was also a topic of discussion. Despite his last name, Sasso explained that it means “large boulder that rolls down the river and settles on the beach” in Italian. He shared how he relates to this description, particularly when he goes to the beach. Sasso’s family immigrated from Italy in the 1960s, and he still has a large Italian contingent of relatives back in Napoli. During a recent trip there, he and his wife stayed in a hotel, which offended their relatives as they wanted them to stay with family. Sasso explained that the food was incredible, with his aunt cooking delicious traditional dishes daily, including a fried pizza that involved flipping it over and layering the sauce on top. Sasso even took a photograph during this trip, showing himself drenched in sweat due to the intense heat.
Moving on to his involvement in the spin-off, “Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage,” Sasso clarified that it is part of “The Big Bang Theory Universe” (BBTU). This spin-off serves as a sequel to a prequel and takes place in 1995. Sasso humorously described the confusing timeline of this universe, mentioning that “The Big Bang Theory” started in 2007, followed by the prequel “Young Sheldon,” which takes place from 1989 to 1994. Now, with “Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage,” the storyline moves forward to 1995. Sasso joked about the complexity of the timeline, acknowledging that it may be confusing for viewers.
Despite his success in the entertainment industry, Sasso revealed that his family back in Italy does not consider him a star. They humorously believe he is a big sweaty Dutch guy and can’t quite understand his fame. Sasso’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live provided a lively glimpse into his life and career, leaving viewers entertained and curious for more.
