The popular talk show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, never disappoints when it comes to entertaining celebrity interviews. In a recent episode, Ellen welcomed guest Amy Brenneman, star of the CBS drama Judging Amy, back to the show. The conversation between these two talented women was filled with laughter, confessions, and even a discussion about coffee and cats.
As soon as Amy walked on stage, the audience erupted in applause and cheers. Ellen wasted no time in jokingly offering Amy a cup of coffee, to which Amy replied, “I could stop at one cup, I could drink socially, that’s all I was drinking, one cup in the morning.” It seems coffee is an important part of Amy’s routine, and even though she tried to quit in the past, she couldn’t resist the temptation of that one cup a day.
Moving on from coffee, Ellen couldn’t help but ask Amy about turning 40. Amy shared that she’s in acceptance of her age and surrounded by older friends, which helps her feel young and fresh. She even shared a funny anecdote about feeling uncertain of what she should be doing on her actual birthday. Amy’s positive outlook and confidence were evident as she embraced this new decade of her life.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when Ellen revealed an interesting tidbit about Amy. It turns out Amy was the first woman to show her butt on television. Amy admitted that it was a part of her contract for the show NYPD Blue and, at the time, she didn’t fully grasp the impact it would have. But once it aired in front of 20 million people, she had second thoughts. Ellen playfully mentioned that she too has a similar clause in her contract but hasn’t been asked to show her butt just yet.
As the interview continued, Amy shared stories about her current work on Judging Amy, where she portrays a 15-year-old character. Despite the serious nature of the show, Amy expressed how much fun she’s having being back on set.
But the most adorable topic of discussion was Amy’s new kitten. The prop guy from the show surprised her with a crate containing a tiny feline companion. Amy explained how she impulsively brought the kitten home, adding chaos to her already bustling household, which includes her three-year-old daughter and two old dogs. Amusingly, Amy confessed that the kitten still didn’t have a name after a week and a half. Ellen playfully suggested various coffee-related names like Latte or Double Shot, but ultimately, they settled on the name Abe.
The interview ended on a high note, with Amy’s show Judging Amy premiering that night on CBS. It was another exciting episode filled with laughter, confessions, and adorable anecdotes about cats. The Ellen Degeneres Show continues to be a must-watch for fans of entertaining and uplifting talk shows.
